The Immigration Act, which regulates admission, residence and departure from South Africa, allows for applications to the Minister of Home Affairs to have certain requirements of the Act waived. Such waivers may exempt individuals and corporations alike from certain requirements imposed by the Act.

Waiver applications must be prepared with particular care as the onus rests on the applicant to show good cause as to why the requirement or regulation should be waived. Waiver Applications are submitted through the offices of VFS Global and have different processing times depending upon the complexity of the Waiver Application.
